2024 Asia Grand Prix Classic Physique Pro Show Preview

[ad_1]

This is one of six IFBB Pro League shows held on this weekend.

The 2024 Asia Grand Prix (AGP) Classic Physique Pro event is slated for Sunday, May 26, 2024, in Gyeonggi State, South Korea. Promoter Alex Hong will host 12 competitors representing six countries. Those athletes will go pose-for-pose with hopes of winning and earning qualification to the 2024 Olympia Weekend in Las Vegas, NV, on Oct. 10-13, 2024.

None of these men have qualified for the 2024 Olympia going into the show. The roster is below, with names in alphabetical order.

2024 AGP Classic Physique Pro Roster

  • Igor Fedorov (Russia)
  • Lei Gu (China)
  • Jun Lang Han (Taiwan)
  • Sang Mok Lee (South Korea)
  • Kai Liu (China)
  • Mohammad Mahmoudi (Iran)
  • Saman Olfatichaghaellahi (Iran)
  • Mahdi Parvani (Iran)
  • Terrance Teo Kok Hua (Malaysia)
  • Mikhail Timoshin (Russia)
  • Kai Wang (China)
  • Shitian Wang (China)

Igor Federov

Igor Federov of Russia will make his IFBB Pro League debut at this contest. He earned that pro status by winning the overall Classic Physique title at the 2022 NPC Worldwide Oksana Grishina Classic. Federov did not compete at all in the 2023 season, and fans are curious about what physique updates he made during that absence.

Kai Liu

Kai Liu finished the 2024 Kim Junho Classic Pro show in second place behind winner Hyun Seuk Lee. Kai Liu ranked third at the 2024 Drogan Physique DMS Pro.

The second-year pro still seeks his first pro win and Olympia qualification. Having two top-three finishes thus far in the 2024 season suggests his potential for gold might be at the tipping point.

Kai Wang

Kai Wang is in his rookie season; he turned pro at the 2023 NPC Worldwide Amateur Olympia Korea contest. Kai Wang ranked fourth at the 2024 Kim Junho Classic Pro, his pro debut.

If Kai Wang were to win this contest, he would be the third athlete from China to qualify for the 2024 Classic Physique Olympia (the other two are Chen Kang and Shicheng Jin).

Other Notes

This is one of three Classic Physique contests on the weekend of May 25-26, 2024. The others are at the 2024 Optimum Classic Pro in Shreveport, LA, and the German Classic Pro in St. Leon-Rot, Germany. The winners of those contests will also qualify for the 2024 Olympia.
